Lomi Lomi

An ancient sacred healing system that has been handed down through Hawaiian families for generations that is now available to benefit all. The bodywork is known for its transformational and unique results as it works on the soft and deep tissues, relieving stress and tension from muscles and restores balance to reflect perfect unity of body, mind and spirit.

Lomi Lomi is not yet well known across North America, but is believed to have been brought to Hawaii over 1,000 years ago by Polynesian voyagers. Its name means nothing more than to-and-fro, rub-rub, knead or massage with loving hands, but the practice is anything but ordinary.

In large flowing movements that can extend over the whole body, a Lomi Lomi practitioner uses their forearms and flat of the hands in a penetrating rhythm like the motion of the sea. In some versions, a Lomi Lomi treatment can go on for hours.

Lomi Lomi, also known as Aloha massage or Hawaiian Temple Style massage, is basically a sacred and unique style of bodywork. It incorporates the use of breath, music and long rhythmical flowing movements of the arms and hands on the body and in the aura to connect the giver and receiver in a beautiful 'dance'.  The dance-like movements of the therapist transmit added power through those forearms. It can make Lomi Lomi an intense experience, both in addressing muscle spasm and releasing psychological tension.

The deep rhythmical massage works with the body's natural flow and rhythm, combined with the positive healing energy generated, helps release tension in the body and promotes self healing. Some Lomi Lomi therapists have found the treatment can help purge pain from deep psychological wounds such as childhood abuse. A Hawaiian massage is profoundly healing for the recipient and energizing for the practitioner at the same time.

It is truly wonderful to give, magical to receive and beautiful to watch. Every treatment is a personal and unique experience in alignment with the individual's specific needs, and works on all levels.
